The special enrollment for temporary employees of large employers starts November 22 and continues through December 10, 2021.
Eligible temporary employees must be offered affordable health coverage as required by the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Who is an eligible temporary employee?
An employee who works at least 30 hours per week or 130 hours per month is eligible to participate in the NDPERS health insurance plan. This definition changed on January 1, 2015 to reflect the definition within the ACA.
When is coverage effective?
If coverage is elected by the temporary employee during this period, it will be effective January 1, 2022.
