To be eligible for benefits under the Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution plan, you must terminate employment and be off the payroll of a covered employer for a minimum of one month (31 days) or be eligible to terminate participation in the retirement plan.
Use the Retirement Guide and complete the Retirement Forms when first applying for retirement benefits. You must apply no later than 30 days prior to your first pension payment or your payment will be delayed.
- There are several different payment options.
- Your payments will continue as long as you live. These payment options only differ in how they pay your beneficiary in the event of your death.
- Estimate your monthly benefit amount by logging into Member Self Service (MSS) or request an estimate from NDPERS by completing and submitting a NDPERS Request for Benefit Information (SFN 53603).
