The North Dakota Public Employees Retirement System (NDPERS) has declared effective July 31, 2025, interim final (emergency) rules in N.D. Administrative Code sections 71-02-02-01, 71-02-02-02, 71-02-07-02, 71-08-02-03, 71-08-09-01, and 71-08-10-01. The rules relate to county elected officials’ participation in NDPERS retirement plans.

NDPERS has adopted procedures to assure public input into the formulation of such rules prior to their final adoption.

Public Hearing 

NDPERS will hold a public hearing on the interim final rules at 11:00 a.m. CT on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 1600 East Century Avenue Suite 2, Bismarck, North Dakota. Further information concerning the public hearing is included in the full notice.
