Your Retirement Plan Matters
To understand your options more clearly, you need to know whether you are enrolled in the Defined Contribution or the Defined Benefit Retirement Plan. Find your plan in Member Self Service (MSS).
You can estimate your monthly retirement benefit or calculate the cost of purchasing service credit in MSS. You can also access the Retirement Plan Handbook that applies to you.

If you are approved for the VSIP and are at Normal Retirement, you will not have an early retirement reduction to your benefits. To estimate your personalized monthly retirement, benefit gross income, log in to Member Self Service (MSS).
Estimate the cost of purchasing service credit in the Defined Benefit Plan
- If you are interested in purchasing service credit to reach normal retirement or to increase your retirement benefit, you may estimate how much service you need to purchase or the impact to your monthly benefit online.
- If you choose to move forward with a purchase, you must request a purchase contract through Member Self Service (MSS) or by submitting a Request for Purchase Information SFN 53718. Your purchase request will be mailed to you within 2 weeks from date of receipt.
